Washington, DC—On July 27, during the National Association of Area Agencies on Aging (n4a) 41st Annual Conference & Tradeshow, Kathryn (Kathy) C. Boles, the President and CEO of the Valley Area Agency on Aging was sworn in, after being elected by the members, as n4a’s incoming president. n4a represents the interests of 622 Area Agencies on Aging (AAAs) and over 250 Title VI tribal aging agencies, a nationwide network of organizations that supports the needs of older adults, people with disabilities and their caregivers. Previously, Kathy served on the n4a Board of Directors and chaired several of the organization’s major committees.
Since 2003, Kathy has served as the president and CEO of the Flint, Michigan–based Valley Area Agency on Aging (VAAA). Under her leadership, VAAA’s funding base has grown significantly, enabling the agency to strengthen existing programs and develop new initiatives that have improved the health and safety of older adults in the region.
“With over 25 years of experience in the aging field, Kathy brings an extraordinary depth of knowledge and commitment to her new role as our president,” said n4a CEO Sandy Markwood. “Kathy’s proven leadership will serve the Aging Network well as she helps us navigate in these rapidly-changing times.”
