Walk with Ease

The Arthritis Foundation Walk with Ease Program is an exercise program that can reduce pain and improve overall health. If you can be on your feet for 10 minutes without increased pain, you can have success with Walk with Ease! The program includes walking, stretching and strengthening exercises, health information, and motivation!

Participants agree to walk at least 10 minutes, 3 times per week for 6 weeks. Participants can increase their walking time as able. Stretching and strengthening exercises are also incorporated into the program.

In research conducted by the Arthritis Foundation, the program helped participants reduce the pain and discomfort of arthritis, increase balance, strength and walking pace, build confidence in your ability to be physically active and improve overall health.

 

There are TWO ways to participate:

  • Self-Directed : Allows you to follow the 6-week program on your own. Start and end the program on dates that work for you. No weekly check ins are required. This version of the program is available anytime. Register when you are ready to start the 6-week program and TCOA will mail you the program materials and you will complete the program on your own. TCOA will follow up with you after 6 weeks to ensure you have completed the program.
  • Self-Directed Enhanced: Facilitator led. Start and end the 6-week program with a group of participants and program facilitator. Weekly check ins and communication with the program facilitator is required. You will primarily walk on your own, however, optional facilitator led weekly group walks are offered to provide an opportunity for socialization, education and motivation. After you register, TCOA will mail you the program materials and you will follow the program.

Regardless of the way you choose to participant, you agree to walk at least 10 minutes, 3 times per week for 6 weeks, and increase walking time as able.

Walk with Ease is not available online.
